Thank you for being a friend…

Our dear friends Erin and Russell moved today. They are heading to the East coast to be with family. It is a devastating day…I guess you never realize how much people mean to you until they are gone…it is so

cheesy but true.

I (Jo) went to grad school with Erin…we have been through good times and bad together. I started to look back at the past six years that I have known her and she has been a major part of every big event in my life. I think we have a been a big part of their lives too. Erin and Russell’s wedding is the first one I ever officiated at as the minister.

Erin is one of the funniest people I have ever met and she is so darn thoughtful. She is so considerate and the most endearing part about her is completely hilarious awkwardness. Plus she is beautiful inside and out…I didn’t like her at first because of all these great qualities that she possesses. Now I adore her and I am just kicking myself that I didn’t make more time to hang out with her when she was here. We all get so busy existing in our own lives that we aren’t living it to the fullest…including spending times with those that we love.

Today we attended a good-bye brunch for Erin and Russell and then Mo, Co, and I went to the Gap Outlet where Phil Collins “Separate Lives” came streaming into the store. How poignant. I love 80’s love ballads…they cut so deep.

All I can say is that we will miss you Erin and Russell and that we will remain friends no matter where life takes us. We are thankful that we have had this time with you and can’t wait to hear about your adventures and how lame your new friends are.

  1. Amen, sister … well, everything except that Phil Collins’ song part … he’s just creepy.
    I’ve been sad all day.
